In 2012 I entered the private practice sector and joined an established paediatric practice. It was here where I developed a passion for Sensory Integration and in 2014 I completed my post-graduate training in Sensory Integration.
In August 2014 I started my own practice. The Jeanine Steyn Occupational Therapy practice focuses on developmental delay, sensory processing dysfunction, Autism Spectrum Disorder and other neuro-diverse conditions, school related difficulties and school readiness.
We pride ourselves in working as a team and collaborating with families, teachers and other health care professionals to assist children to reach their own full potential.

I started working in the private practice field in early 2019 at an established paediatric practice. I then joined Jeanine Steyn’s practice in 2020 to continue working in the paediatric field that I am so passionate about. I have always had a love for helping and working with children and their families. I am passionate about early intervention.
I completed my Sensory Integration post-graduate training in 2024. In 2025, I embarked on an exciting new chapter as my role has expanded to include a practice management role for the Jeanine Steyn Occupational Therapy practice. I will be combining my clinical passion with the role of overseeing the daily operations of the practice alongside Jeanine Steyn, ensuring we continue to provide the highest standard of care and support to the children we work with.
I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of the Western Cape, which I completed in 2022. In 2023, I fulfilled my community service year at Mofumahadi Manapo Mopeli Regional Hospital in the Eastern Free State, where I gained valuable clinical experience working with a diverse range of patients in both adult rehabilitation and paediatrics.
I have a strong passion for working with children and believe in using play as a powerful tool to support their development in a safe and engaging environment. I value the opportunity to collaborate with families to identify each child’s strengths, needs, and goals, and to support them in reaching their full potential. I am especially passionate about educational therapy and the critical role occupational therapists play in the school setting.
I joined the Jeanine Steyn Occupational Therapy practice in 2024. I have completed SASIC 1, 2, and 3, and successfully passed my protocol. I am currently one course and a fidelity measure away from being fully trained in Sensory Integration.

I completed my community service year at Christ the King Hospital in rural Kwazulu-Natal, working with outpatients and inpatients at the hospital, as well as going to local clinics weekly and working at community outreach events. I worked with a wide range of people of all ages with diagnoses from strokes and hand conditions, to developmental delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Downs Syndrome, and Cerebral Palsy.
I have wanted to work with children for as long as I can remember. I have a passion for helping children thrive in all their occupations, and finding solutions to help children be their best. I love collaborating with teachers and parents to work as a team and ensure children are given the best support possible in all areas of their lives.
This year, 2025, is my first year working in the private practice setting and I am so happy to be a part of the Jeanine Steyn Occupational Therapy practice.
